July brought a set of focused updates across the Optilogic platform — from Leapfrog AI upgrades to critical enhancements in solver flexibility, collaboration, and returns modeling. Whether you’re designing for speed, scale, or clarity across your supply chain, these changes are designed to help teams move faster and model with more confidence.
Here’s what’s new this month:
- Leapfrog Goes Multi-LLM
- HOPPER Transportation Optimization – New Solver Focus Modes
- Read-Only Mode
- Returns in NEO Network Optimization
- TRIAD Greenfield to Facilities Utility
- Rename Scenario Utility
Leapfrog Goes Multi-LLM
We’ve entered a new era for Leapfrog: multi-LLM support is now live on the Optilogic platform. Users can now choose between:
- Leapfrog (Text-to-SQL): Our original SQL generation model, now with the enhanced ability to interact with your custom tables and fields, as well as being faster and more accurate than ever.
- Anura Aficionado (A2): A brand-new natural language expert designed to answer questions about the Cosmic Frog Anura schema, underlying data relationships, engine inputs/outputs, and version-level schema changes using RAG (retrieval-augmented generation).
This setup enables faster exploration of both model data and help documentation — all from a single conversational interface. You can ask Leapfrog Help questions about database fields, tables, engines, and the relationships between them. You can also ask about available template models, schema version updates (recent and upcoming), and even get a “hop-start” translating the schema from your previous solution into Anura! 🐸🚀
Think of it as your personal Anura expert, available 24/7/365 on the Optilogic platform. Coupled with our world-class humans on the Optilogic Support team, you now have even more ways to get modeling help!
Hopper Transportation Optimization – New Solver Focus Modes
We’ve added a new Solver Focus setting to Hopper, available directly from the Run screen. Users can now choose between:
- Fast Mode – optimized for speed during model development and iteration
- Balanced – recommended default for most traditional use cases
- High Precision – designed for sensitivity analysis and final scenario evaluation
Each mode has been calibrated with distinct algorithm settings. High Precision now activates additional modules during the improvement phase to deliver the most refined solution possible. This gives users more control over tradeoffs between runtime and accuracy — without needing to adjust advanced solver parameters manually.
Returns in Network Optimization
NEO (Optilogic’s network optimization engine) now includes support for ReturnPolicies and ReturnRatios tables — enabling teams to incorporate product returns into their network design and optimization work.
With this update, you can:
- Define return rates at the demand level
- Specify whether returned items are the same product or a new SKU
- Set allowed return locations
- Decide if and how returned products are reintroduced into the network
Returns modeling is especially useful for reverse logistics planning, closed-loop supply chains, and sustainability initiatives. It adds another layer of accuracy and value to your baseline and scenario analyses.
Intelligent Greenfield to Facilities Utility
Working with TRIAD (our intelligent greenfield engine)-generated location data just got easier. A new utility allows users to automatically add TRIAD-identified locations to the Facilities table — no manual copy-pasting required.
This saves time when transitioning from scenario design to full model development, especially when using TRIAD as a first step in identifying candidate sites.
Rename Scenario Utility
Need to rename a scenario for clarity or versioning? You no longer need to re-run it.
The new Rename Scenario Utility lets you change the scenario name across both input and output tables — without triggering a new solve or consuming extra compute hours. This improves model hygiene and simplifies collaboration, especially in models with many variants.
