Supply & Demand Chain Executive Names John Ames Jr. of Optilogic as Recipient of 2024 Pros to Know Lifetime Achievement Award
Ames has played a pivotal role in advancing supply chain design technology adoption globally
ANN ARBOR, MI—March 8, 2024 — Supply & Demand Chain Executive, the only publication covering the entire global supply chain, named John Ames Jr., vice president of business development for Optilogic, as one of the winners of this year’s Pros to Know award, which recognizes outstanding executives whose accomplishments offer a roadmap for other leaders looking to leverage supply chain for competitive advantage. John was recognized in the Lifetime Achievement category.
At Optilogic John is responsible for building strategic partnerships with the consulting community and works with global organizations to develop repeatable supply chain design solutions.
For over 15 years, John has been a proactive advocate for supply chain design. John and Optilogic have worked to emphasize the importance of evaluating cost, service, risk, and sustainability trade-offs of future supply chains.
John was instrumental in widening the scope of supply chain design to include risk and sustainability metrics. In large part thanks to John’s efforts, companies can measure how their business is performing against sustainability metrics, evaluate strategies for water usage and packaging reduction, model sustainability risk factors, and take a long view of the environmental and financial implications of supply chain decisions.
“I’m honored to be recognized for the Pros to Know Lifetime Achievement award among so many other impressive individuals,” said John Ames. “I’m grateful to be part of a talented team at Optilogic with so many other people working to make continuous supply chain design achievable for any business.”
“Many of today’s supply chain pros are more than just leaders within their space; they’re innovators, decision makers, pioneers of change and growth. They’ve spent the last year (and more) creating safer, more efficient supply chains,” says Marina Mayer, editor-in-chief of Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “New this year, we broke the award down into four distinct categories: Top Warehousing Stars; Top Procurement Stars; Rising Stars; and Lifetime Achievement. These winners continue to go above and beyond to overcome challenges, advance supply chain management and make the impossible, possible.”
Recipients of this year’s award will be profiled in Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s March 2024 issue, which will be distributed at MODEX 2024 and at www.SDCExec.com.
