Cosmic Frog – Model Activities

Building your model involves activities including importing many data files and geocoding data. These activities can often be time-consuming.  

Good news: all these model-building activities run in parallel as Cosmic Frog is a true SaaS cloud platform. This new Model Activities feature allows you to keep track of everything happening within your model. Each activity is displayed as a card with detailed information on progress and status.  

Users can also search completed activities to view a useful audit trail. For example, “when did I last import demand to this model…” 

Cosmic Frog – Usability Improvements 

Drop-down master data selector — Master data is referenced across multiple tables; for example, demand for specific Customers and Products which references these tables in Cosmic Frog. If this data doesn’t match, the demand will not be considered in the scenario.  

This new feature allows you to immediately reference this master data. No more moving between tables to cut and paste data. Simply use the drop-down feature to select master data from the other tables. In this example we are selecting the destination for a transportation policy that references data in multiple other tables!

 

Data entry helper – Can’t remember what those Products or Facilities were called?  Now users can simply launch the Data Entry Helper from any cell within a grid.  This will provide you with a searchable list of all master data from the relevant tables. You can simply click on data in the list to automatically populate the cell in the grid. 

Record counts on grids – When modeling we “just know” how many records there are for “those products”. Now, with record counts on every grid those counts are easy to see and validate. Record counts are calculated every time a filter is applied within a grid. Filters are also more clearly shown and can be removed easily by closing the label. 

Custom column management in Cosmic Frog – Cosmic Frog has always supported custom columns in grids, scenarios, maps and analytics. Now you can create new custom columns as well as edit and delete them directly within Cosmic Frog. No more having to use SQL queries or external tools to manage these columns. Custom columns can also be included as Key columns when importing data.

Scenario item management improvements – This new feature allows users to more easily manage scenarios, quickly assigning items in bulk to many scenarios and viewing an inline summary of item details.

Utilities 

Now users can harness the combined power of the Atlas coding environment with Cosmic Frog utilities to streamline workflow processes. This enables “custom” user-built Utilities that can be made available in models. Copy Maps/Dashboards, look up rates from SMC3 RateWare, automatically aggregate Orders to Demand, and more.

We’ve added new reference data to the Resource Library that enables users to supplement data they don’t have to model new scenarios more accurately. New reference data includes:
