Database Transferring
With our new database transferring feature, users can seamlessly transfer ownership of databases to ensure business continuity, improve data management, and enhance collaboration across teams.
Simply locate your Cosmic Frog Model, select “Transfer Ownership”, and enter the username of the new owner, with the added convenience of reassigning multiple databases from a dropdown menu.
This feature safeguards against data loss or disruption due to employee turnover, ensuring uninterrupted access to critical resources. Additionally, it streamlines data management and collaboration by enabling efficient assignment of responsibilities and seamless transitions between teams.
Persistent Notifications
Persistent notifications in the platform now allow users’ notifications to be retained between browser sessions and tabs, ensuring they stay informed even after closing the software.
Additionally, users can mark notifications as read and choose between viewing all notifications or only unread ones with a convenient toggle switch, alongside a new tab to monitor active background jobs with real-time updates via WebSockets.
Persistent notifications ensure users never miss important updates, even when not actively using the software.
New Cosmic Frog Menus
We’re excited to show you our new navigation menus, which have been completely redesigned based on customer feedback. Users are now able to easily navigate between modules from a from a single drop-down menu.
Previously, users working on smaller resolution screens found it difficult to navigate–as the menus grew, they used up a significant portion of the screen. The new menus work much better on small screens where they are easier to use and require less screen space.
Map Legends
Many users have requested configurable legends that can be easily displayed on the map in Cosmic Frog.
Users can now display map legends as a floating control that can be positioned anywhere on the map. This can be customized to show both information about the selected scenario and filters, as well as selected Layers within the map.
Map Layer Label Formatting
Enhancements to Map Layer Labels now include font sizes, types and colors, background coloring and label positioning. This feature provides the flexibility to show multiple labels for points and flows on a map colored and scaled appropriately. This addresses formatting issues with fixed font sizes and colors that made it difficult to easily see data with labels on the map.
Grid Bulk Updates
Many users have requested the ability to quickly apply bulk updates to columns within a grid. This functionality allows a user to select any column and update all records for a selected filter, rather than having to export and reimport the data. Bulk updates are applied to the current filter and support persisted “named” filters within grids.
Easy Duplication of Rows
Ability to easily duplicate rows when working with data in a Grid within Cosmic Frog. Users can either select and duplicate specific rows or duplicate all rows for the currently applied filters, automatically updating a specified columns as part of the row duplication.
This new feature makes it much easier to work with data in Cosmic Frog grids and eliminates the need to export and reimport data. Even large datasets can be duplicated directly within a grid and the user can define a column update that is automatically applied during duplication, ensuring new records can be easily filtered.
Create and Replace Groups
Groups can be automatically created from a filtered dataset within a grid. Where input data has been updated, for example new facilities added, groups can be easily updated directly from the grids.
Automatically creating groups means the user no longer must manually do this outside the model and import, where mistakes could cause model infeasibility. When new data is added to the model, existing groups can be easily updated, meaning the user no longer must keep multiple datasets aligned.
Geocoding ISO Countries
Geocoding in Cosmic Frog now supports ISO standard country codes. ISO country codes can be entered directly, and Cosmic Frog also automatically maps to ISO standards where they are not provided, for example ‘United States’ maps to ‘US’. This handy feature increases the accuracy of automatically geocoded data.
Tips
Tips allow the user to quickly refamiliarize themselves with functionality within a module. This is currently supported for the Model Manager and Data modules within Cosmic Frog. Clicking the ? icon in the new menus will step the user through key functionality for that module. This feature is useful to learn about new capabilities as well as refamiliarize yourself with existing functionality.
